At Wolfstar we work with a number of different people in all kinds of creative fields from photographers and videographers to freelance writers. We thought it would be a great idea to give you an insight into some of these professions and recently spoke to Joanna Collie at IMAGINANTICS.
What would be your “Elevator Pitch- What makes IMAGINANTICS different to the rest?
I’m a published author, a creative writer AND an experienced copywriter – which makes me a great choice.‚ I know how to switch between the skillsets and when to blend them for maximum reader response.‚ I can offer you the expertise of more than twenty-five years’ experience as an award-winning author, content writer, copywriter, scriptwriter, journalist, broadcaster and university lecturer in creative writing. Fresh, creative campaigns are not only for big businesses with budget to burn.‚ Every business has a story to tell, a target market to tweak and money to make with the right message.‚ We say what you mean.
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I’m an author, creative writing tutor and the Director of IMAGINANTICS, a creative consultancy specialising in scriptwriting for radio and tv, content writing, blogging for businesses, copywriting, ghostwriting, editing and creative training for entrepreneurs.
I live in York, with a big scruffy dog and love long walks, the English countryside, bloodcurdling stories of medieval times and music.
I’ve been Head of Creative for several media groups and a university lecturer in Creative Writing and had books, short stories, features and radio work published and broadcast internationally.
I am also a professional vocalist with a list of past adventures singing with people you’ve heard about and more that you haven’t.
What exciting projects are you currently working on?
All sorts of exciting projects are on the go!‚ I am ghostwriting a non-fiction book for WARNERS GROUP, writing my own trilogy of ebooks as well as creating new webpage content, blog posts and articles for businesses in Yorkshire, Leeds and London.
What clients/brands are you currently working with?
A publishing house for book writing, several features publications, two business coaches, a tourist attraction in York content and ghostwriting, a Smart Homes contractor for blogging and a couple of music production studios for radio work and audio books.
What’s been your favourite moment in business to date?
Undoubtedly, having my debut non-fiction title sold by my new, London literary agent to a multinational publisher – Little Brown Book Group – within just three months.‚ A great vote of confidence in my writing!
What does the future hold for you and your business?
I’m looking forward to having a regular blogging schedule – seeing more clients take advantage of the sales power within their websites.‚ Great writing is what search engines such as Google look for now, rather than the maximum number or keywords and phrases that can be shoehorned onto a webpage.‚ Knowing how to achieve the right SEO with well-crafted, inspired writing that converts readers into customers is what IMAGINANTICS is all about.
