Pack Profile – Sophie

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m Sophie, a 5ft 10.5”, 23-year-old senior account executive at Wolfstar!

I graduated from the University of Leeds in July 2018 with a degree in Fashion Marketing. Whilst finishing my degree, I had a placement at Wolfstar before joining as a Junior Account Executive in October 2018 – my first full-time role!

I’d always worked in fashion retail at Topshop, Warehouse, John Lewis and French Connection throughout school, A-Levels and University so had always been client/customer facing. I also had a couple of other placements, one at a local Leeds-based accessories company as a Fashion Marketing intern and Topshop as a Personal Shopper which I loved.

Outside of Wolfstar and work, I love going to the gym, walking my fluffy, mischievous dog Marnie, online shopping, reading books (and my monthly subscription to Vogue), going out to eat and trying new restaurants (arguably my favourite pass time). I spend a lot of time with my family, friends and boyfriend and trying to convince them to go on as many holidays with me as I can squeeze into the year!

What is your main role at Wolfstar/ What does a typical day look like?

I’m generally the go-to influencer member of the team, so that means I research and outreach to influencers regarding gift guides and influencer campaigns for clients. When I’m not doing that, I’m overseeing client’s social media so monitoring, drafting and scheduling social posts, writing and issuing press releases to the media, writing blogs, doing admin duties like campaign reports, coverage reports and weekly reports. I come up with creative ideas to support with the planning of campaigns, attend and participate in client meetings, help organise events and generally support those in management roles at Wolfstar! No day is ever the same and it’s always busy which is why I love it so much.

In terms of Wolfstar, I am the resident Wolfstar DJ! I create playlists for the team to keep us going through the day. I am also social secretary so organise a lot of social activities, biscuit buyer (although I sometimes slack…) and I also run Wolfstar’s added value incentive.

What is your Best Moment in PR?

My best moment in PR so far is playing a main part in organising a factory tour event at our client Portmeirion’s HQ for the brand’s influencers and ambassadors. It was a great day! It went well; some great content and results were produced, and everyone really enjoyed the day. I also loved organising an Instagram takeover with a key influencer for Ruffwear and an influencer campaign for Portmeirion, Afternoon Tea Week (which was delicious).

Who would be your Dream Client?

Someone like Pretty Little Thing. I think Pretty Little Thing is so bold in its marketing and PR stunts! They do some fun things – after Harry and Meghan’s announcement of stepping down from their royal titles they recently announced that all ‘Megans’ will receive unlimited free delivery. And, they’ve recently wrapped a plane in Pretty Little Thing branding.

What’s an Interesting Fact or Special Talent about yourself?

Fun fact – the real, verified Justin Bieber follows me on Twitter and has done since 2009. We are basically best friends.

What would you be doing if you didn’t do PR?

I’d probably be working as a Fashion Buyer for a fashion house. Or, in another life, work in astronomy at NASA – it fascinates me!
