Here we are again, Christmas songs fill shops, brands jostle for the title of this year’s best ad and we begin the continued campaign of stuffing our face with miniature chocolates and mince pies.
I am of course referring to the fact it’s December tomorrow and the start of advent. Whilst you’ve been scratching your head at what to buy for secret Santa and planning your Christmas party outfit, here’s some things you might have missed in November.

Okay, so this might have been right at the end of October, but we couldn’t not mention this in our roundup.
In what was one of the biggest social media mishaps of 2017, Prue Leith the new judge of The Great British Bake Off managed to reveal the winner hours before the final went out. Although to their credit, when reporting the story many newspapers decided not to reveal the winner.
This didn’t stop the original tweet being screenshotted and shared around the world quicker than a cake takes to sink.
Oh-dear what’s the number for Mary Berry?
You’re a disgruntled employee – what would you do on your last day in the office? Tell your boss how you really feel? Spend the whole day watching YouTube videos of cats? Delete the social media account of the President of the United States?
That’s what one rogue employee did on his last day at social media giant Twitter. On his way out of the building he managed to deactivate Donald Trump’s account.
Unfortunately, the peace and quiet only lasted a wonderful 11 minutes before he was back tweeting again.
YouTube is tweaking the way it decides which videos will have adverts after making changes to the way videos were monetised. A move which came about to combat extremist content and eradicate ads appearing alongside them.
However, not everyone was enamoured by the changes as some popular vloggers complained, stating it made it hard for them to earn money. Read more about the news here.
